I'm a molecular biologist exploring the evolution of complex life on earth by studing some of the most extreme organisms in existence. My projects have broadly focused on functional organisation of filamentous proteins within crenarchaea and asgardarchaea. My work has however mainly focused on how Sulfolobus acidocaldarius utilizes the ESCRT-III membrane remodelling system to divide the cell, and how this relates to current eukaryotic cell divison.

Passionate about evolution, synthetic biology and how the two can be combined to help tackle current and future challenges for humanity.
