Dr. Solenne Ithurbide

Trustee

I am a co-founding member and Trustee of the Society for Archaeal Biology.
I am super excited to see the ARCHAEA.bio project alive and having such a great welcoming from our community. Let's keep building it up together !

After a PhD at the University Paris-Saclay in France on DNA repair mechanisms in the radioresistant bacterium D. radiodurans, working on Archaea was a natural step to keep my interest on extremophile organisms.  And I can say that I felt in love with them ! I went onto my postdoctoral world tour in the Duggin lab (UTS, Sydney, Australia) and the Albers lab (Freiburg, Germany) to work on cell division mechanisms in the haloarchaeaon Haloferax volcanii and I am now in the Brun lab (Montreal, Canada) where I am developping my own line of research while keeping my research interests on H. volcanii 's cell biology.
