It is a manually curated database for accurately and rapidly profiling functions and taxonomy of methane cycling microbial communities in metagenome sequencing data. The developed MCycDB contains 298 methane cycling gene families covering 10 methane metabolism pathways with 610,208 representative sequences, and 20,616 homologous orthology groups were also included to reduce false positive sequence assignments
